Elianna Friedman

Associate director

Elianna has many roots in the Los Angeles area. She grew up in Agoura Hills, and started her nonprofit career as a Project Chicken Soup intern while studying for her MBA in Nonprofit Management at American Jewish University. After graduating she moved to the Bay Area and continued to follow her passion for working in food justice while at the San Francisco Food Bank, as Program Coordinator and CUESA as their Market Chef and Culinary Educator.

Most recently Elianna founded Bay Leaf Kitchen, a nonprofit cooking camp that connected youth from San Francisco's low-income neighborhoods with farms so that they could learn from experts about the food they eat. As the founder, she grew the organization from an idea to a community driven nonprofit that helped to prevent childhood obesity for 140 families annually. Elianna loves to cook nutritious, locally driven meals and share her cooking passion with others.
